As part of the Foundation FOCUS financial literacy campaign, the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation invites you to attend a FREE FOCUS training session, featuring the NEFE (National Endowment for Financial Education) High School Financial Planning Program (HSFPP) and the award-winning BizKid$ Program. These “Train the Trainer” sessions are open to credit union staff, teachers, and community partners who are interested in teaching or distributing the NEFE HSFPP and BizKid$ program. Revised in 2013, the NEFE HSFPP is a turnkey financial literacy program specifically focused on basic personal finance skills that are relevant to the lives of pre-teens, teens, and young adults. Organized into six module topics (planning, borrowing, earning capability, investing, financial services, and insurance), the program includes six topical Student Guides, an assortment of 45-minute teacher lesson plans, and a growing collection of online resources and learning activities. BizKid$ is a financial literacy initiative that includes an award winning TV series, free classroom curriculum, outreach activities, a website and a monthly online newsletter targeting children 9 – 16 years old. Participants will receive teacher lesson plans, student workbooks, and practical hands on content training. Schedule: Registration: 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM Training Session: 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM (Lunch will be provided) Attire: Business Casual Cost: No cost for the training and materials. Enrollment: Open to all credit unions, teachers, & community partners. Deadline for registration is 3 days prior to training session.
